TRY-IT EVENTS
Women's Para Hockey of Canada supports the development of female-centered Provincial Teams and events. We facilitate game series, tournaments and development camps aimed at focusing on the development of women in each province and providing the opportunities to be on teams in participate in events that are only for women and girls.

Team Ontario traveled to Montreal to face off against Team Quebec in their second 3 game series. Another great opportunity for development and growth for women's sledge hockey in Canada.

NOVEMBER 21-22, 2015 - NEWMARKET, ON
The first Women's Provincial Sledge Hockey series took place in Newmarket, November 21st and 22nd. Team Ontario faced off against Team Quebec in the 3 games series. It was an exciting weekend of sledge, showcasing women's development in sledge hockey.
National players Jessie Gregory, Christina Picton, Mackenzie Spong, Danica McPhee, Claire Buchanan, Vanessa Racine, Véronique Major, Sophie Forest and Myriam Adam were playing for their respective province.

2015 ONTARIO DEVELOPMENT CAMP
AUGUST 8-9 - PORT COLBORNE, ON
Christina Picton hosted an open summer training camp prior to the 2015 National Women's Sledge Hockey team selection camp. Five national team veterans attended this camp as well as national team trainer/assistant coach, Kat Ferguson. There were also two women new to sledge hockey on the ice learning from the experienced players. This camp was a great chance to train before tryouts and get some new faces involved in trying sledge hockey.
SHREDDERS SHOWCASE TOURNAMENT
DECEMBER 27 - NEWMARKET, ON
Women's National Sledge Hockey team captain, Christina Picton, submitted an all female roster into the 2nd annual Shredder's Showcase tournament. The "Babes on Blades" roster included seven national team members and four prospects. The team included disabled and able body players.
This was a great opportunity for the Ontario based, female sledge hockey players of all levels to get together and play games with an all-female roster. They played 3 games in the one day tournament.
